REAM and KROAD ink MoU

REAM and Korea Road Association (KROAD) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the 15th REAAA Conference in Bali, Indonesia on 22 March 2017. REAM President Datuk Ir. Haji Adanan bin Mohamed Hussain and KROAD Vice Chairman Mr. Young Woo Kim were the signatories to the document. The signing was witnessed by REAM Honorary Secretary General Dato’ Ir. Dr. Ashaari bin Mohamad and KROAD Executive Committee Chair Mr. Keon – Chang Cho.

REAM participates in 15th REAAA Conference in Bali, Indonesia

REAM President Datuk Ir. Haji Adanan bin Mohamed Hussain led a 53-strong delegation to the Road Engineering Association of Asia & Australasia (REAAA) Conference in Bali, Indonesia from 20 to 26 March 2017. The REAM delegation was the second biggest, next to the delegation from the Philippines, which has taken over the presidency of REAAA for the current term.

YEP Group’s seminar draws overwhelming response

The REAM Young Engineers & Professionals (YEP) Group and Kemaman Bitumen Company (KBC) jointly hosted a one-day seminar entitled Asphalt Pavement Day: What’s Next? on 28 February. Their tireless efforts drew some 250 registrations.

 

Seminar was declared open by the President, Road Engineering Association of Malaysia (REAM) Datuk Ir. Haji Adanan bin Mohamad Hussain.

The Centre of Excellence for Engineering & Technology, Public Works Department (CREaTE) and REAM jointly organised the above seminar on 27 and 28 April 2017 at the newly minted CREaTE complex located in Alor Gajah, Melaka.

YB Datuk Rosnah binti Abdul Rashid Shirlin, Deputy Minister of Works delivered the Minister of Works’ opening address and declared open the seminar on 27 April 2017.

The Permanent International Association of Road Congress (PIARC) also known as the World Road Association has appointed the Director General of Public Works Department, Malaysia (PWD) as the First Delegate for Malaysia. This passing of the baton was as a result of the recent retirement of the former Director General of PWD and PIARC’s First Delegate Datuk Ir. Haji Adanan Mohamed Hussain.

REAM YOUNG ENGINEERS & PROFESSIONALS (REAM YEP)TECHNICAL VISIT TO RAWANG BYPASS PROJECT

REAM YEP organised a technical visit to Rawang ByPass project on 3 February 2016. Rawang Bypass project is being built to enhance the Level of Service of the current Federal Route 1 ( towards Rawang Town ) and Rawang Town from the current rating of F to C rating with minimum social impact and minimal disturbance to the environment. It is also to reduce the traveling time from Serendah to Kuala Lumpur from two (2) hours to thirty (30) minutes during peak hours and to spur the economies of Rawang, Serendah, Batang Kali and stretches to Tanjung Malim town.
